In 2002 Trail Blazer Campaign Services, Inc. purchased Trail Blazer from Aspen Software. Aspen Software had been selling Trail Blazer for about 10 years, focusing on FEC compliance. In 2002, as they worked with their clients, they began to create a new version of Trail Blazer. Deciding to start from the ground up with new technology, they were able to quickly adapt the key features of the existing software to the new .NET Framework from Microsoft.
