Carolinas Aviation Museum

January 2nd, 2010 Posted in 123 Triad

Founded in 1991, the Carolinas Aviation Museum is operated by the Carolinas Historic Aviation Commission. Dedicated
to preserving the aviation heritage of both North and South Carolina, the Museum is located at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. The Museum is the premier aviation museum in the Carolinas.

Over the past decade the museum has developed an impressive collection of over 45 major aircraft, and a wealth of other artifacts. One of their most pressing needs is for volunteers to staff the Museum each day during normal operating hours.
Often people are often hesitant to volunteer because they do not feel they know enough about their collections to act as
tour guides. To address this, they have created a training program for docents and a Docent Manual that will help you provide Museum information to their visitors about the museum.
